The people have spoken - over 4,000 votes were cast and The Ginger Man (Norwalk/Greenwich) and Southport Brewing Co (Fairfield) are the winners but only by the slimmest of margins. Ginger Man's Sweet Potato Clam Chowder narrowly beat SBC's Holiday Seafood Chowder. While SBC almost took home two titles, they could have easily walked away without any hardware as new comer Liquid Lunch (Shelton) was a mere few votes from winning the soup title with their Roasted Artichoke Chicken Gorganzola. Rory's from Darien took the 3rd spot in the chowder category with single digit votes separating all three restaurants. Soup Alley, who won last year for their Lemon Chicken & Rice came in third.
Almost 1,500 people attended the two day competition between 22 of CT's great restaurants. Among the kids favorites were Ash Creek's '3-cheese pizza soup' and Bobette's 'Mac & Cheese at the Ritz' Soup. The event helped raise approximately 15,000 meals for the CT Food Bank.
